It is for freedom that Christ has set us free Let us not become entangled again in the yoke of bondage

Paul hardly ever if ever held back He could be uite brutal with the truth Yet sometimes that's exactly what we need What really struck me through Galatians this time around was how Paul confronted the Galatian people's stubborn belief that the law would save them while also reminding them that it was Jesus who became the law in order to save us Paul's words were harsh yet gentle at the same time He also shared many encouragements with them as well including this beauty found in Galatians 418 But it is good to be zealous in a good thing alwaysBoy I wish people would be zealous in a good thing Too much of the world are zealous for evil things Only by the grace of God will that get turned around As for me I am trying to focus on God and any good thing He plants in my lifeI was not compensated for my honest review

I love Paul's epistles They are some of my favorite books and Galatians is right up there with the favorites I love how easy it is to read and yet has powerful meaning and depth A favorite verseFor all the law is fulfilled in one word even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyselfBut if ye bite and devour one another take heed that ye be not consumed one of another Galatians 514 15

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives love joy peace patience kindness goodness faithfulness gentleness and self control There is no law against these things Galatians 522 23 NLT Galatians was written was written by the Apostle Paul about 49 AD according to BibleHubcom It's is the ninth New Testament book and the fourth Pauline epistle letter from Paul As this is a letter it's not set anywhere per se but the addressee is the Christian churches of Galatia To give some context of where the country of Galatia would have been at the time Paul wrote the letter Ancient Galatia is located in the central regions of modern day Turkey from ancienteugalatiaRating 5 starsI read this book by watching it on DeafBible a great app on my phone which has videos of some of the books of the Bible signed in ASL verse by verse I find it motivating to read this way Is it clean? YesChristian elements Obviously the whole thing is Christian since it's part of the Bible The fruit of the spirit is a concept that really struck me as a tween My Sunday school teacher had us each draw a bowl of fruit and label each piece of fruit one of the fruits of the spirit as a visual for ourselves at home She had us label a banana with longsuffering otherwise known as patience which I thought was clever I enjoyed that activity my very non artistic self notwithstanding and it's impressive that I still remember it 25 ish years later From the BIble as a whole I like the Pauline epistles as well as Proverbs most because I appreciate the overt lessons on godly living Important points Paul writes this book to deal with the problem of circumcision and Jewish legalism toward Gentile believers Biblehubcom with Gentile referring to non Jews Galatians is a very short book of the Bible makes sense since it's a letter so I'm going to include the highlights of the summary from Biblehubcom since it won't take up much roomIn chapters 1 2 Paul’s gives his testimony about how he had received the authentic Gospel messagePaul then declares that Christ now lives within him and directs and empowers him to live as Christ’s ambassador and instrumentChapters 3 512 Paul begins by declaring that salvation is through faith and trust in Jesus Christ “Alone” and cannot be obtained through the keeping of the LawChapters 513 6 He teaches the Fruits of the Spirit and tells us to “walk by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh” 516 I'd always recommend the Bible as good reading for anyone I'm currently reading Joshua

This was really good Galatians is full of doctrine but it's not uite as hard to read as say Romans The new Bible study method that I started using reading KJV then comparing with NIV and then reading it in Russian it's really helpful to fully swallow what Paul is saying 👍🏻

  7. Loraine Loraine says:

Paul addresses his message to church comprising primarily Gentile Christians facing a crisis because false teachers are attempting to mke them follow the works of the Law and be circumcised Rather than engaging in works of the law Christians are to follow the law of Christ which is the law of lovePaul's letters do such a beautiful job of sharing the essential beliefs of Christ that we as Christians should follow

  8. Rachel Lu Rachel Lu says:

1 Thessalonians is a much shorter letter but Paul uses the word “brother” 19x in comparison to 9x in Galatians What is intriguing is that Paul’s usage of familial words decreased with the church in Galatia which faced conflicts than the church in Thessalonica Curious to know whether Paul consciously employed less familial language because he viewed the Galatian church less as family or whether it was unconscious which would be an interesting perspective on the subjectivity in the Bible

Why does Goodreads show this as written by Anonymous when we know it was written by Paul?
