This series is rated Older Teen and has some graphic violence sexual contentnot graphic enough for Mature rating some strong language as well as some disturbing loli visages because nothing is as scary as a bored eternally young witch Of course if you have seen any of the previous volumes you probably know the gist of how dark this series can beTrial is in session and the illusionary court will pass judgment on what has happened in the 5th game of the Golden Witch Beatrice's game Battler must put on his thinking cap as Erika shows us the extent of her obsession for her own truth and Battler must do it all with the restriction of Knox's commandments or he will be shut down Also in this volume it seems we have reached a turning point in the series as Battler does his best to protect his Aunt Natsuhi from being judged I'll be honest I heard Phoenix Wright music in my head as the Objections abound and it added to my excitement My fave part would have to be Battler come back at the end of the book before leading us into the next arc with new truth at his disposal

this volume and the one before it kind of dragged it was a lot of arguing and not so much splattering but then there was this you will be thrown into the banuet of the goats as a sack of flesh to be devoured alive and then let us mince and crush mince and crush so that was pleasant interlude

Oh wow the artwork in this volume is some of the most beautiful I've seen in this series yet Ryukishi07's postscript called this volume the turning point and storywise that's a very good description This is the point where Battler finally understands what's going on and the real world's truth finally begins to overtake the fantastic illusions of the Golden Witch Emotionally you have some massive torue with Beatrice's death and the dissolution of Natsuhi's dignity The artwork handled everything pitch perfectly The translation was really good too A part of me kind of wishes they hadn't prettied up Erika's original Take that dead people line It underlined her pettiness I thought but the new one does flow better in English If I have any regrets it's that evidently Akitaka only did this arc of Umineko But the good news is I think he does the artwork for Rose Guns Days so once I'm ready to move on to that series I should be able to feast my eyes on some beautiful artwork
